More information and member applications at LambdaLV.com Lambda Business Association What is The LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce? Organized in 1991, Lambda is a group of LGBTQ-owned or allied business professionals, elected officials and community organizations. Lambda Business Association is the LGBTQ* Chamber of Commerce for Southern Nevada. We are over 260 businesses, organizations and elected officials, who believe equality, non-discrimination and social justice is good for business. *Beginning in 1996, we used the tag line of the “Gay Chamber of Commerce” but attempting to be more inclusive, we re-branded ourselves as the “Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce” and are now known as The LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce for Southern Nevada.” Lambda is a 501c6 corporation. Why patronize our member businesses? Those listed in this directory WANT your business. They support the LGBTQ community. Many are willing to extend discounts to those who contact them through this directory. They will be happy to know where you found them. Members joining Lambda must agree to Lambda’s Code of Ethics. Our directors have determined these businesses (or organizations) follow both the law and ethical guidelines for their particular industry. If a member is known to support discriminatory practices (or in the case of an elected official, doesn’t support equality legislation), their membership can and will be revoked. Wouldn’t you rather invest your money with a business that respects your right to equality? The Chamber with a Social Conscience Lambda believes a stronger community is good for our business. It’s why we support doing what is right on social justice issues. Lambda is on record as “Friend of the Court” in four landmark lawsuits which gave us marriage equality. We were the only chamber to support an increase in the state's minimum wage, sick pay leave, and banning of conversion therapy. We are also on record for common sense gun registration, the banning of civilian owned assault weapons, pay equality, women's rights and more. Join us or just meet for lunch Every second Wednesday of every month, we meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. The public is welcome, no RSVP needed. Other than the current $25, all inclusive charge, there is no obligation. We meet at The Center and lunch is catered by the Bronze Café,401 S Maryland Pkwy. The food is great and our speakers are “Women in Gaming” lunch speakers. among the best.
